| The Voice of the Young People |
|
Earlier this month another volunteer and I took three of our older boys (ages 17-19) to dinner. We wanted to meet with them to hear there hearts about what they think young people in this neighborhood need. I wrote down about 10 questions to guide the conversation. We let them know that they are the voice of the young people and what they have to say is very valuable to us. They know so much more about what these teens are going through and we needed to hear from them.

| LOVE on a Post-it Note |
|
Last week we started back up with grilling hamburgers for the young men (ages 18-25). All winter we have been baking cookies and making goodie bags to take to their doors. They loved this, but ALL winter long they asked, "When are you gonna start back up with the hamburgers Rachel?" So, all the guys were excited when they saw us grilling on my porch again. We wanted to make some kind of spiritual connection with them and show them in a simple way the LOVE that is in God's Word. Read more

| BLESSING an East St. Louis Family |
|
There is a family here in the neighborhood who God has been putting on my heart to bless. They have seven children between the ages of 13-21 and also an elderly mother living with them. The Dad lives with his family, which is a rare and wonderful thing in this neighborhood. We have been able to gather a few items that they need, but I would like to do more for them. Would you like to help me? Attached is a list of things that I would like to collect for them. If you are able to give any of these items, it would be greatly appreciated! Our contact information is on the left.

| Partnership |
|
Every month, God uses faithful partners like you to help fund the operation of this ministry and you are such a blessing! I can't express how fulfilling it is to know that even though I don't see you every day, I know that you are helping us reach the fatherless, the gang member and anyone we come across on the streets. It is an honor to be connected to you!
THANK YOU!
Rachel :) |
