"Our Champions"

Dear Friends, Family and Partners,

The picture you see in the left corner is a billboard that currently sits in East St. Louis near Highway 64. The first time I read it, I saw it as something that God was declaring over this city. As if He were saying, "Right now, there may be people in this city who are broken, poor and the city may filled with violence, but I see this city as a 'City of Champions.' People who will rise up out of the mess and brokenness and become a CHAMPION for Me." We have grabbed a hold of God's heart for this city, to raise up a generation of CHAMPIONS  for Jesus.

This word "Champions" is not only for the people here, but for you as well. Maybe you feel like you've failed or you're facing a challenge that doesn't seem to be changing. But, God is saying to you, "You are my CHAMPION! And you will rise up and take the place that I have called you to. A place of victory, a place of strength, a place of purpose." So, all of you CHAMPIONS out there... Rise up and take your place!

Below are some pictures of our very own Champions that we serve in our youth recreation program.
Art Table
Not all of our boys are drawn to basketball, so they enjoy hanging out at the Art table.
Art Table
We've been having more girls come and they have a blast at the Art table as well!
This young man has been coming to the youth program for about six months. Since then, he frequently promotes it and brings new friends.
This is one of our older boys. For several years, he would show up sporadically. But, over the last few months, he is coming more consistently. What a blessing!

The last time we met with the teens, we had several 18 year old boys come. We've been praying for more older kids to come, so this was an answer to prayer!
Volunteer
This is one of our volunteers who grew up in the youth program. She helps us to know what the kids face on a regular basis because she has been in their place.

Partnership

2 Corinthians 9:8 (NKJV)

And God is able to make ALL grace abound toward you, that you, ALWAYS having ALL sufficiency in ALL things, may have an abundance for EVERY good work.

Isn't that verse amazing!!! WOW! He really does cover everything in this verse, letting us know that He will ALWAYS provide and He'll do it with abundance. I want to encourage you to believe God for ABUNDANCE in every area of your life. He has promised it to us, so that means we can surely claim it.

Your wonderful support goes towards funding the various operational costs of this ministry and helps us to continue reaching out to East St. Louis.  Thank you so much for your faithful generosity! As you give, I pray that you will see ABUNDANCE show up in your own life.

In Christ,
Rachel :)
