Dear partners, friends and family,

I am currently reading a book by the pastor of the Los Angeles Dream Center, Matthew Barnett. It is called, The Cause Within You. It has been impacting me so much that I want to share a nugget from it with you.

Pastor Matthew says, "What's at issue is what I think of as the miracle space: the gap between what we can accomplish on our own and what can be accomplished when we allow God to work through us. In a culture that acts based on the tangible, we are reluctant to step out in faith and believe that God will fill in that gap."

I was so encouraged by this truth about the miracle space. It helped me to see that no matter how big the thing is that God is calling us to do, He WILL fill in that space that our own abilities, resources, connections, time, energy, etc., could not possibly fill in. We don't have to worry about how to do it, we just need to step out and do what He's prompting us to do. Encouraging you to GO FOR IT!!!

God Moments

With the weather in January, we had to cancel several of our activities, but there have been moments that we have seen God's hand and opportunities for ministry. As I look back over January, this is what stands out to me;

Teen Program

We've been having more girls come, they are so much fun! The last time we met with them, several of them played double dutch. Any time I'm around double dutch, I always try to participate, but I have yet to be successful at it. Maybe someday :) Below are some pictures of

our time with the girls. To see videos, you can go to the Facebook site. Find us on Facebook

Young Men

In the colder months, we are not grilling for the young men. Instead we have been baking cookies and making goodie bags to deliver to their door. They love it! When we were delivering, one of the big tough guys yelled across the way, "I want some cookies!" As we go to their doors, we're able to talk to them more and have opportunities to pray with them.

Homeless

Since it has been so cold, I haven't been prayer walking but driving through the city to pray. As I do this, I often see homeless people. My natural reaction is not to give them money because I don't know what they will use it for. But, lately God has been melting my heart for them and helping me to see that it's not my job to worry about what they will spend it on, but to bless them. In these times, I see their eyes light up and can truly sense that they feel loved and are thankful.

Prisoners

Each month, I write a few young men who are in jail. One of the letters I received this month, a young man shared with us, "I just want to say thank you for all you guys have done for me. I really miss you guys a lot. I don't belong in here, I'm only in here because I made a bad mistake. You guys are my inspiration on life when I get out." I have been able to send him scriptures and he is opening up about some traumatic things he experienced as a child.

Partnership

It is such a blessing and an honor to be connected to you and have your support and prayers. Being in partnership is vital to the success of this ministry because it could not be held together by one person. I'm so glad it's all of us working together, side by side! It's the Body of Christ that God uses to pour into this ministry. Thank you for all of your encouragement, financial gifts and prayers that you faithfully share. Thank you for helping me to run the race!

In Christ,
