A GREATER OUTPOURING
God has been stirring in my heart to share a word with you that He gave me 2 1/2 years ago for East St. Louis. Since then He has confirmed it through several other words and dreams. It is a word that I CANNOT let go of. Below is what I wrote to God those 2 1/2 years ago on that unforgettable night.
Written on DECEMBER 21, 2006
"Tonight we began our weekly prayer time in John DeShields with worship. A few minutes into it, Melissa said, "I believe we are supposed to walk around the neighborhood and pray." We got out of my car and began walking to the side of John DeShields with the low numbered buildings. As we walked, we saw that Building 15 was torn down and lying in rubble. Buildings 12 and 13 have been vacant and gutted for several months now, but have a huge fence around them. Melissa felt that we needed to stay in that area to pray. For about 15 minutes we just walked back and forth praying in front of the fence that was around Buildings 12 and 13. After a while you began to speak to both of us. Melissa said, "I feel that these buildings represent people's lives that are broken down." There was this spot in front of building 13 that I just couldn't leave from, because Your presence was there so strongly. So I hung out there for a while and prayed. While I was standing there praying, a word came up in my spirit, "A GREATER OUTPOURING." I believe that this outpouring is one of your Holy Spirit. There have been many lives that have been saved, but they've got to have more. How can we begin ministering the baptism of the Holy Spirit to them? After that, Melissa said, "I feel like maybe God has to tear these buildings down because bad things have happened here." Then we both remembered that we had heard of murders, etc that had happened behind those buildings. Melissa said, "We need to go behind these buildings and pray." So, in the dark, we tromped around through the thick mud to the back of the buildings. Behind those buildings is not the nicest area. It is actually very dark and gnarly. We walked behind the buiildings, and as soon as we got back there, we felt a demonic presence, it was very dark, spiritually. We began to walk back and forth behind the abandoned buildings and prayed. We chose random porches to stand on, pray and declare things over the area. The Holy Spirit was leading us each step of the way. We then began to worship, because we remembered the verse about Paul and Silas, when they began to pray and worship, their chains fell off and the prisoners were set free. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! We worshipped in order that chains would be broken over that area we were standing in. When we were at the end of Building 13, we heard two guys yell over and say, "Is that you Rachel?" I couldn't see them because of the trees. I said, "Who is it?" The voices said, "Anthony and Marquis." I told them , as I giggled, "We're just over here praying" Then they said something that really made me smile. They said, "We knew that had to be you Rachel." Melissa and I laughed and said, "What other white girl would it be, in the dark, behind an abandoned building praying in John DeShields?" As we prayed and worshipped we could feel the spiritual darkness begin to leave and all around us it felt lighter and not so heavy. We then stood facing the fence with all of the over growth and trees behind it. We commanded the demons to go and never come back. We prayed that God's presence would come on people so strongly if they went back into that area. It was such an amazing time God and I know that you will continue to do more exciting things like this!!!! I look forward to it."
This promise from God of a GREATER OUTPOURING onto East St. Louis is something I will believe for until it happens. As I prayer walk in the mornings through the neighborhood, this is what I pray for and declare over John DeShields and East St. Louis. I sense that each time I pray, those prayers are watering the ground of their spirits, and they don't even know it. HAHAHAHAHAHA! It's a top secret mission!
I can't say that I know all of the details of how or when God will bring this OUTPOURING, but I'm expecting it! People are becoming more thirsty for God and their hearts are slowly turning towards Him. And it's only the beginning! |
