We understand, it can be intimidating to make the jump into participating in healthy activities; but we want to assure you that there is nothing to fear, when you join the Y. We welcome everyone with enthusiasm and offer whatever support you need to get started and stay engaged.

We offer a wide variety of convenient classes for people of all fitness levels and abilities, and an array of programs to help keep kids, teens and adults happy. And, of course, our facilities include state-of-the-art equipment and quality staff.

Join now through May 21 we will waive the joining fee, families save $100.  Member privileges abound this month.  For every member that you refer and joins the referring member will receive a month free!  Jump In!

You can learn to save lives. The Northern Neck Family YMCA is hosting a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course June 3-8.  The cost is $140 for members and $160 for others. 

Those interested in taking the course must be at least 15 years old.  On the first night of class participants must be able to swim 500 yards (with the following strokes: front crawl with rotary breathing and breaststroke) and surface dive to a minimum depth of 7 feet to retrieve a 10 lb. brick and return to starting point.  For more information contact Dave Cunningham at dcunningham@.peninsulaymca.org

Become the responsible and fun babysitter parents want for their children. This course provides youths ages 11-15 with the knowledge, skills, and techniques needed for safe care-giving. Learn to prevent emergencies through proper safety planning and how to give loving care while playing with and supervising children.

The course is Wednesday June 5 from 9am-2pm.  The cost is $30 for members and $40 for program participants. Pre-registration is required. For more information contact Vera Lee at vlee@peninsulaymca.org. 

Outdoor Pool Opens June 1! 

Visit the YMCA Lively Aquatic Center located conveniently at 3989 White Chapel Road, Lancaster VA 22503. Use of the outdoor pool is included with all Northern Neck YMCA Memberships.  Do you want to bring a friend to swim for the day?  Guests are only $5.

Continuing our summer tradition, on Sundays, June 2 - August 14 any family in Lancaster County presenting a local Church Bulletin or Church Newsletter to the YMCA staff at the Lively Aquatic Center, are permitted to swim at no charge on that day.  For the safety of all participants, all of our normal age restrictions and aquatic guidelines apply.  For more information, please contact our Welcome Center, (804) 435-0223.  This summer, on Sundays, the YMCA wants you to "beat the heat" at the Lively Aquatic Center.
