I am pleased to share with you the full draft of our new strategic plan for the College of Engineering. This plan is the result of many months of hard work by the College Strategic Planning Committee, composed of faculty, students, staff, and alumni. The goals and initiatives articulated here came out of intensive discussions by the Committee as well as ongoing conversations among all members of the College community about our future purpose and direction.
As we shape the final version of the plan, it is critical that these discussions continue. To that end, we have placed the draft here for your review and comments. You can review the draft by clicking on the link and entering your Drexel username and (ex: abc123) and password. I encourage you to read it carefully and to consider the following questions:
- What is your sense of the draft as a whole? Does it focus on the issues of greatest relevance and importance to the College? Are the priorities right?
- Are there any gaps - important goals, strategies, or big ideas that are missing?
- Is anything unclear or confusing?
Please take the time to respond to these questions and provide any other comments you wish using the electronic form here. In addition, the members of the Strategic Planning Committee and I will lead an all-College town-hall meeting about the plan on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 1:00PM - 2:00PM in the Bossone Atrium located on the third floor. I also encourage each department of the College to set aside time soon, in a regularly-scheduled or supplementary meeting, to discuss the plan, summarize its discussion, and share this feedback with us.
We will use your input to finalize the plan with the goal of releasing it in May. I thank you in advance for finding the time to respond and look forward to your contributions.
Dr. Joseph B. Hughes
