Rusk Chamber of Commerce Benefit Fundraiser for Tina Baggett - 8/2/14

The Rusk Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors invite you to attend a benefit fundraiser for Tina Baggett scheduled for Saturday, 8/2/14. The benefit will be held at Brookshire Brothers in Rusk, in the parking lot, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Hotdogs, chips and a soft drink for $5.00, proceeds from this event will go towards assisting Tina.

Tina became unable to work in February due to complications from Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. Additionally, donations can be made at Prosperity Bank in Rusk, Jacksonville, or any Prosperity Bank in Texas or Oklahoma.

Her medical bills have been mounting though she does have insurance, which does not pay for everything. Mrs. Baggett has been undergoing treatment since October 2013, but she developed chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy in February of this year which caused her to be able to walk only with a walker and be unable to work. Mrs. Baggett will have to have someone with her continuously during the first two or three weeks in August. While harvesting her stem cells, she will be required to stay at a hotel or other lodging, traveling back and forth to the hospital daily to harvest her cells. She cannot drive during this time.
