Cherokeean Herald Open House - 3/19/14

 

You're Invited!  Please, join Marie Whitehead, Family and Staff of the Cherokeean Herald to celebrate 164 Years as The State's Oldest Weekly Newspaper.

The Arbors Healthcare and Rehab Center Health Fair & Hamburger Lunch - 3/20/14

 

The Arbors will sponsor a health fair, complete with a blood drive from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 1884 W Loop 343 in Rusk.  You're invited to come and visit with the many different health care providers and Carter Blood Center will be available to take blood from those wishing to donate.

 

Hamburger plates will be for sale that day for $6 per plate.  All proceeds will benefit Cherokee County Relay for Life.

 

While you're there, be sure and ask about the Raffle tickets for a chance to win two tickets for the 7 p.m. May 10 Texas Rangers vs. Boston Red Sox game and a chance to win a $50 gift card to Academy Sports and Fitness. Raffle tickets are $3.00 a ticket or four for $10 and may be purchased at the Arbors Nursing Home or at the office at Brookshire Bros. in Rusk.

 

The drawing will be held April 25. Winners do not have to be present.

1st & 10 Sports Gala at the Heritage Center of Cherokee County - 4/5/14  

 

You're invited to attend the 1st & 10 Sports Gala at the Heritage Center of Cherokee County on Saturday, April 5, 2014.  The event will start at 6:30 PM at 208 Henderson St. in Rusk and will have Food, Live Music and a Live and Silent Auction.  All proceeds to benefit the Heritage Center of Cherokee County.

 

This event honors Dr. Jim Swink, All American, and those players who have been part of

Cherokee County's sports history.

 

Cost is $20.00 per person and tickets are available at Austin Bank, Citizens 1st Bank & Texas National Bank.

Christ the Redeemer Academy and Preschool Accepting Applications for the 2014-15 School Year  

 

Christ the Redeemer Academy and Preschool are now accepting applications for the 2014-15 school year. Our preschool is the only Texas School Ready certified preschool in Cherokee County.  That means we provide a program that is researched proven to academically and socially prepare our students to be successful in Kindergarten. 

Our primary students must maintain a 90% average in their academics. 4th grade and higher must maintain an 80% average.  Our Academy maintains Merit Status due to our student's success rate. We are a licensed child care provider for children 18 months old through age 12 years. Some classes only have a few openings.  We do accept CCS for full time students 18months through 5 years old.  We also accept CCS for after school child care.

 

Child care costs are $100.00 per week. Kindergarten prep class through Academy is $3500.00 per year and may be made in 10 monthly payments.  A $75.00 non-refundable registration fee will hold your child's space for fall.

 

After school Child Care is available for $50.00 weekly. For enrolled Academy children it is just $100.00 a month in addition to Tuition.

 

Child Care services are from 7am - 6pm, Monday -Friday. We are closed all federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

 

Academy hours are 8am - 2:45pm Monday - Thursday, and 8am - 12pm every Friday.

Christ the Redeemer was established, and has operated continuously since 2007.
