Delay on Medi-Cal Change to Eliminate Split Billing

on Some CP Codes

DHCS has announced a delay in their revised policy to eliminate split billing for some 80 clinical pathology codes. CSP has contacted DHCS and indicated our opposition to the change and the impact on many hospital based pathologists. DHCS published the announcement of a delay in their June Provider Bulletin and it is printed below. We will keep you informed on the status of our discussions.

9. Delayed: Discontinuance of Select CPT-4 Split Billing

There is a delay in split billing changes announced in the May 2014 Medi-Cal Update article, "Discontinued Split Billing for Select Lab Codes." The new effective date will be announced in a future Medi-Cal Update.
