Toxic Mercury Warnings
An article written by Charles G. Brown, National Counsel for Consumers for Dental Choice, Washington, D.C., entitled "Mercury Dental Filings as an Emerging Toxic Tort" contained the following:
"On June 3, 2008, The FDA issued, via its website, this starck advisory: 'Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses.'"
"...FDA agreed (a) to classify mercury amalgam by July 2009, and (b) to change its website, withdrawing all claims of safety and replacing it with advisories about concerns of mercury's impact in pregnant and nursing women, children, and those already mercury toxic from other sources."
"Mercury toxicity is so prevalent that the Environmental Protection Agency warned in 2004 that fully one in seven women of chilbeearing age already has so much mercury she is at risk of having a brain-damaged child."
Mercury comes from many sources other than silver dental amalgams, among them:
· tuna fish and swordfish
· contaminated drinking water
· seeds and vegetables treated with mercurial fungicides
· medications - diuretics, Mercurochrome, Merthiolate, Preparation H, contact lens solution
· occupational exposure - felt, algicides, floor waxes, adhesives, fabric softeners, manufacture of paper, production of chlorine
· children can be born with mercury toxicity that is passed through the placenta from their mothers. Mercury can also be passed to children in breast milk.
Do yourself and your family a favor and eliminate from your home and your dietary intake these toxic exposures which cause damage to the central nervous system, the hormonal system, kidneys and energy production.
