Greetings from Dr. Sharon Price, PhD., CN.

Tests You Can't Get at Your Physician's Office

Many individuals have asked for a complete listing of the tests that we provide at Nutritional Direction.  We are continually looking for the best tests and the most reliable labs with repeatable results.  Here is the listing.

Pre-pathological Screening (ElectroDermal)
Disease begins first with a disturbance in the electromagnetics of the cell, and then it affects the biochemistry.  The BodyScan is a pre-pathological assessment tool which can detect imbalances in the body such as bacteria, viruses, chemicals, hormones, metabolism, heavy metals, molds and fungus, parasites, pesticides, pollen, digestive, glandular and lymphatic.  Initial screening takes about 1.5 hours in office.   Fee: $195.00.

Futrex 5000 Body Composition Analysis
This computerized instrument is the most accurate way to determine body fat and lean percentage.  Toxic chemicals become bound up in the (fatty) tissue of the body.  Fee:  $20.00

Mineral Deficiency Panel
This hair tissue analysis measures levels of calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and eight other critical minerals.  It also identifies toxic heavy metals, as well as organ, gland and system imbalance.  Fee:  $119.00

Vitamin D Testing
This in-home blood spot sample is sent to the laboratory to assess levels of Vitamin D.  Adequate levels of Vitamin D are important in the prevention of diseases such as cancers, autism, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.  Fee:  $75.00

Neurotransmitter Testing
These are chemical messengers, which when unbalanced can result in anxiety, depression, insomnia, ADD, OCD, fatigue, cravings and eating disorders.  Neurotransmitters can be rebalanced through Targeted Amino Acid Therapy for proper brain function and overall well-being.   Fee:  Generally covered by insurance.  $75.00 - $400.00

Breast Cancer Risk Assessment
The Estronex 2/16 ratio is a simple urine test to determine the ratio of two estrogens.  This is a significant marker for estrogen sensitive cancers such as breast and cervical.  Fee:  $198.00

Female & Male Hormone Testing
This saliva test measures the level of female and male hormones:  FSH, LH, estrogens, progesterone, testosterone, androstenedione, dihydrotestosterone and DHEA. Studies have shown saliva testing to be more reflective of actual available hormone levels than blood tests.  Fee:  $138.00 & Up

Osteoporosis Risk Check
This urine test measures Dpd (deoxypyridinium) levels, a marker in the urine that determines the rate at which bone is being broken down and is a significant early warning for osteoporosis prevention.  Fee: $157.00 - or add $80 to above Breast Cancer Risk Assessment.

Adrenal Cortisol Panel
This saliva test measures cortisol levels 4 times throughout the day.  This information is significant to weight and fat loss, blood sugar balance and energy restoration.  Fee:  $138.00

Vitamin Deficiency Panel
This laboratory urine test assesses B vitamin status and other metabolite deficiencies such as CoQ10, Carnitine, Lipoic Acid.  It also measures harmful byproducts that are damaging to cells and associated with cancer, arthritis, heart disease, stroke and aging and many other diseases.  Fee: $315 - $638.00

Gastro-Intestinal (GI) Health Panels
Saliva and stool panels to check for gluten sensitivity, H pylori bacteria, parasites, yeast/fungus, virus, bacteria, infectious diseases, immune function and GI functional markers including occult stool blood.  Fee:  $14.00 - $376.00

Food Allergy/Sensitivity Panels
This laboratory blood test identifies delayed (IgG) and immediate (IgE) food and airborne allergy/sensitivity panels.  Innocent (healthful) foods could be "poison" to your body.  Fee:  $455.00 & Up

Iodine Spot Load Test
24-hour urine laboratory test identifies iodine levels.  Symptoms of too little iodine include uterine fibroids, increased risk for breast cancer, hypothyroidism, PCOS and hypertension.  Fee:  $110.00

Chemstrip Urine Test
This in-house urine test measures 13 separate urine categories, screening for health problems such as infections, tissue degeneration, liver disease, kidney disease and diabetes.  Individual Fee:  $20.00

Zinc Taste Test
Zinc is an essential co-factor of almost every function that takes place in the body.  Over 90% of patients show signs of zinc deficiency.  This simple in-office test will instantly determine your zinc status.  Fee:  Free of Charge

Lone Star Screening
We work with this local company in order to provide our patients access to the lowest cost for any kind of blood work.  Fees are paid directly to Lone Star Screening and are as much as one-fourth the cost of laboratories' list prices.

Please note that fees are not static and subject to change.  Prices charged will be those in effect at time of test.
