Happy New Year To All!
I am grateful for the start of the year. Beginning anew is always so important. I am grateful for your ongoing support. I have so many projects in play at this point - it's exciting, but it can be a little overwhelming.  There will be a new recording in the spring; namely, the long-developing PASSION WORLD.I'll be performing several different incarnations of Sinatra-related concerts for his centenary year celebrations, the most prominent being a string of concerts with the excellent Tommy Smith and the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra. I'll be creating some new pieces with my dear friend (and recently named Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) Guy Barker (MBE) for our London friends. I get to do some very intimate NYC concerts with elder-statesman Harold Mabern, which will be thrilling. And, of course, there will be events that surprise me . . . and, I hope, YOU.

Elling Swings Sinatra

This year Kurt Elling pays homage to Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday in a new program, Elling Swings Sinatra.
Kurt lends his voice to Sinatra's vast repertoire with reinterpretations of classic hits such as "Come Fly With Me," "In the the Still of the Night," "I Only Have Eyes for You," "April in Paris," and "The Lady Is a Tramp." These ever-familiar tunes are transformed by Elling's superb vocal expertise and imagination, breathing new life into old favorites for today's audiences.  "Frank Sinatra's voice was possibly the single most influential musical sound in the 20th Century. I could hardly have let his centenary year go by without a serious tip of the hat."
Come celebrate the music of Frank Sinatra during an evening accented with richly told stories of these fascinating moments in time.

Passion World
Songs of Love and Loss
Jazz speaks all languages, especially the language of love.
Passion World is Kurt's tour-de-force program of songs of love and loss from around the world, performed in their original tongues, learned over his twenty years of global touring. Even if you're not a native speaker, the meaning of the heart is clear.
In Passion World Kurt ignites the imagination, sweeping you away on a grand, multicultural tour of exotic places, cultures, and times, even as he provides a captivating musical incarnation of romance and all that it can mean.
First commissioned by Jazz at Lincoln Center in 2010, a fresh new recording of Passion World will be released by Concord/Universal in the spring of 2015.
Kurt is finishing post-production work on the recording before he and the band start touring again in February.
