Moravian Tile Festival Recap
|
The Moravian tile festival had two beautiful days of weather and two tents completely filled (each tent had 20 10'x10' both spaces). We had folks from Russia, Alaska, Canada and a spread across the US. Vendors commented positively about the complimentary reception held for them after the show on Saturday.. We had 1100 visitors. There was a nice write-up on Sunday May 18th in the Intelligencer by Chris Ruvo.34.
Special note was the participation of Ksenia Pirvits, of Moshkoff Studioa, from St. Petersburg, Russia. Ksenia had previous been an apprentice at the MPTW. As usual, Joe Taylor and Sheila Menzies of the Tile Heritage Foundation, Healdsburg, CA had an inviting booth filled with tiles donated by artisans from around the country, sales of which benefited the Foundation's mission. Next year's festival is slated for May 16 & 17.
