REMINDER

Wednesday,August 5 Deadline for Tuition and Forms

Emergency Form-due from every child, new and returning. $25 late fee if not received by 8/5.

September 2015 Tuition payment is due. The payment most of you already made in May or June was for May 2016, not September. Separate $25 late fee if not received by 8/5.

Health Form completed by physician-due from all newly enrolling children. Separate $25 late fee if not received by 8/5.

The office will be open from 9:30 to12 on Wednesday.

PLAYGROUND PLAYDATES

Don't miss the last ones!

Wednesday August 19 and September 2

Come join your new and old friends at the playground. You may use the playground at any time, but this is a special times when lots of friends might be there. Suggested time is 10-noon.

Nametags will be available. Please put a nametag on youself and your preschool child. The office is open during playdate times, so you may chat with the office staff about any business or purchase a school bag.

SPREAD THE WORD
Openings If your friends or neighbors ask, we do have several spaces for 2's, 3's and 4's.

The Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The Preschool is inspected by Fairfax County Health Department and voluntarily complies with Virginia Standards for Child Day Programs, but holds a Religious Exemption to Licensing from the VA Department of Social Services.

FROM THE DIRECTOR
It's almost time for school to begin! Preschool staff are now busy getting classrooms, children's forms, new teacher orientation and many other things ready. We appreciate your taking care of paperwork and tution payments on time; it is a big help is getting organized for school to start. Please mark your calendars for important events described below. It strengthens our School Family when we get involved. Join your friends at Playdate this Wednesday and on September 2, and stop by the office for any school business you need to take care of! Your child's teacher will be calling on or before September 5. Jane

PARENTS GROUP NEWS

Getting Involved

Please Join Us!!!! The Parents Group would like to welcome all returning and new parents to the UCP Parents Group! We look forward to meeting you all. The Parents Group is a fun, low-stress way to meet other parents and get involved in your child's school. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join the meeting - all input and ideas are appreciated! The Parents Group will hold their first meeting at the playground on Wednesday, September 2nd, at 10:00 am. Please bring your children. We will be discussing plans for the upcoming school year.

The Parents Group wants you to be informed of upcoming school events and what other parents like you are up to. Whether it's planning the Fall Festival or an impromptu playdate, there's useful information for you on our Shutterfly group site. Email your Parents Group Coordinator, Jenn Flora, at jhflora654@gmail.com to receive an invitation to join the Shutterfly Site. Meet other parents and help plan activities at the monthly meetings and online.

Yard Sale

Mark your calendar for the Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, October 3. While purging your toys and clothes this summer, please consider saving them for the Yard Sale. How can you help?

Save and donate gently used children's items.
Tell your friends we will take their items.
Store donated items in your garage or basement.

PRESCHOOL PARENTS NIGHT
Thursday, September 17 Mark Your Calendar for this important event when you will visit the school, learn about exciting things going on, meet teachers and spend time in your child's classroom.

POT LUCK PICNIC

Monday, September 21, 5-6:30 pm

Pack up the whole family and have a wonderful evening together.

Bring:

Blanket or chairs

2 dishes to share.

HELP NEEDED
E-mail or Call if you can do any of these: Pick up a box of toys that need washing anytime and return them later. Painting Several little jobs Capentry/"engineering" work on water/sand tables and other tasks during week of Aug 24. Playground yard work-Call for instructions, do on your own time. Greet new families and give directions on September 10, 11, 14 or 15.

Go Sign up this week!

Any shopping that you do at Harris Teeter or Safeway can result in a few pennies from each purchase being added to our account. Then with lots of parents doing the same, the pennies really add up.

Stop by the Customer Service desk at either store. Tell them United Christian Parish Preschool and show your shoppers cards (or if you are like me and lost those cards years ago, give your phone number).
