Bill Curtis & Friends w/ The Fatback Band 2009"
We here at the "House Funk" is very excited about this long awaited project. This is the first of many! I had the pleasure of being around so many great musicians in my musical life that needed to be heard.
June 14th was the release date for EP "Bill Curtis and Friends w/ The Fatback Band 2009" Soul Funk with Hip Hop Jazz with some of my friends from back in the day. Robert Damper, Warren Daniels, Willie Bridges, David "Bubba' Brooks and Gerry Thomas.
"Do it to Me Now" features Cordell "Pete" Everett and Quenetta Simpson, live at Jazz Cafe in the UK "2005". Also there's a cut featuring the late David "Bubba" Brooks, "Truck'n w/ Bubba." While going through some old tapes, I ran across this recording of Bubba that we recorded sometime in the early 90's in our Linden Blvd Studio in New York. It was so funky, I had to release it!
We also added a couple fun tunes Gooshy Sushi & Open House fun tune's. They are just what they are.fun to play and great for dancing! Also added was a very soulful rendition of "All about U Baby" an instrumental featuring Willie Bridges.

Also joining me is Mrs. Isabella Gordon that wrote three of the tune "My Friend, Dem Words, He's A Player."
Bill Curtis is proud to report that all the original members (Johnny Flippen, Johnnie King, Ed Jackson and George Williams) are present and accounted for on the album. Other guests are Ledjerick Woods, Lynn Muldrow, Oscar McMillan, Bob"Zoot"James, Darryl McAllister & Bejuan Lattimore.
Bill Curtis and Friends was produced by Fatback Production w/co-producers Robert Damper, Andy Pow. Recorded at Digital Wave Studio of NC and Tec 9 Records of Ohio and mastered at Studio B in Charlotte, NC. Available on iTunes and all the e-music Internet stores.
