Waggin' Trail May 17: Still Time to Sign Up!

There's still time to sign up for this year's Waggin' Trail!

Your participation is important to us. Every pledge helps us with our lifesaving mission. The walk will be held at Beckley Creek Park of The Parklands of Floyds Fork (PDF). There are three walks to choose from: our 5k Waggin' Trail, a 1.7 mile Canine Course and a 0.7 mile Puppy Promenade.

Don't want to walk? Why not sign up to take a cat nap on Saturday? Your friends and family can still pledge for you.

From now until May 16, for every $100 you raise in pledges, your name will go in a drawing for an iPad Mini. In addition, we have some great prizes for those who raise money.

  • Raise $125 - $299 and receive a KHS dispenser for "necessary bags" for when your dog has to go (bonus - the first batch of bags are included)
  • Raise $300 - $499 and receive the dispenser PLUS an official KHS baseball cap
  • Raise $500 or more and receive the KHS dispenser, KHS baseball cap PLUS a KHS umbrella

Update on Shadow and Daisy

Thanks to everyone who gave to support Shadow and Daisy. Daisy is healthy, has adjusted to her life as a three-legged cat and is now up for adoption. Shadow continues in foster care and is doing wonderfully. The veterinarian is very pleased with her progress and expects it to continue. More on Daisy and Shadow.

Without your support, we could not offer the care such pets need. Thank you for your help in making Daisy's and Shadow's lives better. There are still dogs and cats out there with emergency medical problems who need your help. Donate now.

Hill's Pet Nutrition Donates 3,000 Pounds of Food

Hill's Pet Nutrition joined forces with Louisville Public Media (LPM) to support the Kentucky Humane Society. For every pledge made to LPM during its spring sponsorship drive, Hill's Pet Nutrition donated one pound of pet food to KHS. Hill's rounded the amount donated to 3,000 pounds of food.

Thanks so much to Hill's and to LPM for partnering to help us with our lifesaving mission!

Free Pit Bull Spay/Neuter

The Kentucky Humane Society's S.N.I.P. Clinic offers free spay/neuter surgeries to pit bull terriers and pit mixes. These surgeries are made possible by grants and donations from people and organizations who care about this wonderful breed and want to reduce the number who end up in shelters. Register online or call 502-636-3491 for a free pit bull spay/neuter surgery and show your pit how much you care.

Meet Sadie, a sweet five-year-old beagle. Sadie is short and stout with a very easy-going personality. She is cute as can be, and like a typical beagle, Sadie loves to use her nose to go exploring. When she see the leash, she gets oh-so-excited, and knows exactly where she's going: outside! You can meet Sadie at our Preston Feeders Supply, 5763 Preston Highway. Click here for more on Sadie.
