Hollywood Orchard and TreePeople Present: Wildflower & Tree Planting Workshop 4/9

April 9th from 9 am till 1 p.m.

Spring is in the air and it's time to get our hands in the soil! Join Hollywood Orchard and TreePeople on Saturday, April 9th for an educational, hands-on beautification effort to benefit Cheremoya Elementary School and the Franklin Village neighborhood.

We will be planting wildflowers as well as Catalina Cherry Trees, which are native to the Beachwood Canyon area. Together, they will draw pollinators and songbirds, and the trees will provide shade for years to come.

Participants will learn from a TreePeople expert how to build a water saving berm, amend soil, and build sustainable tree fencing with repurposed tree stakes.

We will provide morning refreshments and lunch for volunteers. This workshop is FREE, but space is limited, so you must RSVP via TreePeople's website. We hope you can make it!

MEET US AT
Cheremoya Elementary School, 6017 Franklin Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90028

Beachwood Cafe

Why not wander into into the Cafe and have a meal and conversation with any one of the many neighbors you will run into? This IS family!

In days gone by, most neighbors would meet spontaneously in the local cafe and visit about all manner of neighborhood issues. It looks like those days are here again! How many times have you found yourself meeting with a friend at the Cafe? Have coffee in the morning. Breakfast of lunch before your stroll through the neighborhood. Have dinner and a glass of wine at night. We're so lucky to have our Cafe - right in the heart of Beachwood Canyon!
