The Peanut Butter Conspiracy was a Los Angeles-based psychedelic pop/rock group formed in August 1966. Three of its original members John Merrill (guitar/ vocals), Alan Brackett (bass/ vocals) and Lance Baker Fent (guitar/vocals) are still at it.

The group signed with Columbia Records in late 1966, releasing "It's A Happening Thing", a single produced by Gary Usher. It reached number 93 on the national pop chart. The band recorded several albums, The Peanut Butter Conspiracy Is Spreading, the Great Conspiracy and For Children of All Ages.

The Peanut Butter Conspiracy split up in 1970. John Merrill and Alan Brackett continued writing and producing for other artists and Lance Baker Fent continues to write and produce his own brand of rock-and-roll through his GreenManMedia label.

On September 22, 2009, Brackett, Fent and Merrill, reunited to perform Brackett's song, "Eventually" at the Amoeba records store on Sunset.  The song was originally recorded in 1966 and is part of the Rhino box set, Los Angeles Nuggets - Where the Action Is.

Following the Amoeba performance, Alan Brackett, John Merrill and Lance Baker Fent got together at GreenManStudios and recorded "Happy Man" one of Lance's  songs, which appears on the new CD he is releasing this month. On December 11, Alan Brackett will be rocking with Lance on the bass, just like old times.

Forever Home Needed ASAP

Dog Adoption Alert!! Over Thanksgiving I found this sweetheart puppy, frightened and dirty. She's about 4-6 months old, and from the missing fur on her neck it appears she was probably tied up with a collar that was too tight. She's super friendly, incredibly sweet and is very responsive to basic commands. I would love to find her a home where she'll be well taken care of. I'd keep her but with two dogs in the house already, it just isn't doable. I am covering her vaccines and spay costs, so if you think you're the right person to take care of her or know someone who is, please send me a message or give me a call or text at 917-328-9283 and I can arrange for you to meet her. And of course, PLEASE SHARE this post if you'd like to help find "Pip" her forever home.

Beachwood Cafe

Why not wander into into the Cafe and have a meal and conversation with any one of the many neighbors you will run into? This IS family!

In days gone by, most neighbors would meet spontaneously in the local cafe and visit about all manner of neighborhood issues. We can do it again.
