Fed Up With Helicopter Noise?
Now you can do something about it.
The Los Angeles Area Helicopter Noise Coalition has submitted four petitions to the Federal Aviation Administration that will reduce helicopter noise.
We need your support for the petitions - so the FAA and elected officials know that the public wants to stop helicopter noise.
Go to LAHelicopterNoise.org/Mobilize/ and support the petitions.  It's easy!
Complain about every helicopter that disturbs you!  Go to LAHelicopterNoise.org/Complaints/ to see how.

Beachwood Happy Hour!

Jeff & Karen invite you all to come to Hollywoodland Antiques for happy hour! They do this most every Friday from 5 - 7 p.m.!

Come in and have a glass of wine or a beer, snacks, and get to know your neighbors.

They look forward to seeing you this and every Friday! Join the newly formed tradition that's all the rage in Beachwood!

P.S. Stop in and ask to see some of Karen's hand painted creations. Some are wearing her shirts in the neighborhood. This is MUST SEE stuff.

P.S. & P.S. This is a total good vibe event - we have noticed neighbors walking down the street at around 5 pm on Friday, almost all headed for Happy Hour. What a perfect way build community! Sometimes there is a surprise theme!

Beachwood Cafe

Why not wander into into the Cafe and have a meal and conversation with any one of the many neighbors you will run into? This IS family!

In days gone by, most neighbors would meet spontaneously in the local cafe and visit about all manner of neighborhood issues. We can do it again.

Editorial!

The following is an editorial piece by Beachwood neighbor, Eda Hallinan. Editorial submissions need to be received by the third week of each month. Send to BeachwoodCanyon@sbcglobal.net.

NO RESTRICTED PARKING IN
BEACHWOOD CANYON

We, the residents of Beachwood Canyon,

ARE STRONGLY OPPOSED to:
a) Extending PPD permits from Ledgewood to the Village
b) Extending existing PPD permits to 7 days a week.

A. DO NOT EXTEND PREFERENTIAL PARKING RESTRICTIONS BELOW LEDGEWOOD
1)    It would make accessing the businesses in the Village difficult or impossible for many regular customers.
2)    PPD permits put the future of these businesses, which provide important services to the Beachwood community, in jeopardy as it will strip the businesses of parking spaces for their customers.
3)    PPD permits between Ledgewood and the Village would simply push parking issues to below the Village - where parking issues already exist - and where a mile of apartment residents, many of whom have no parking on their premises, would be left without any parking.

B. DO NOT EXTEND EXISTING PPD permits TO SEVEN DAYS A WEEK

1)  It would greatly restrict access to a much-loved public park. Thousands of residents have chosen to live in this neighborhood because of the proximity to the park and trailheads. Furthermore, the volume of non-resident traffic and parking in Beachwood during the week is not significant enough to warrant a 7 day a week restriction.

PETITION:

To express your opposition to these parking restrictions, please go to:
