The Homestretch
My Friend's Place invites you to a special screening of The Homestretch, the dynamic new documentary by Anne De Mare and Kirsten Kelly, on Tuesday, June 2. Following the screening, guests are invited to participate in a panel discussion with experts and community members to discuss the larger issues surrounding youth homelessness and better understand the complex needs of these young people.
The post-screening panel will be moderated by My Friend's Place board member Cheryl Hayward, and will feature Eric Rice, assistant professor at the USC School of Social Work and My Friend's Place research partner; Aleah, a former client of My Friend's Place; and Heather Carmichael, My Friend's Place Executive Director. It's sure to be an informative and inspiring evening, and we hope you can join us on Tuesday, June 2, at 7 p.m. at the Charlie Chaplin Theater at Raleigh Studios.
The Homestretch follows three homeless teenagers as they navigate the pressures of living on the streets while trying to stay in school-inspiring us all to rethink stereotypes of homelessness in the process. For more information on The Homestretch, please visit www.homestretchdoc.com.
