Marathon Light Show FRIDAY Night - Must be Seen From Way Up High! 8:40 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.

Another reason to love living in Beachwood! If you, your neighbors or friends are up in the hills and enjoy a spectacular view of the City, on Friday night, this is an experience not to be missed!

'Twas the night before LA Marathon weekend and all through the city, The runners were in the Hollywood Hills looking down at a sweet light installation, thinking, "wow, is that pretty."

This Friday night, to get LA Marathon runners and spectators fired up for Sunday's race, ASICS will shine a total of 124 spotlights into the sky marking each mile of the 26.2-mile course from Dodger Stadium to Santa Monica. Barring any kind of premature June Gloom, it will be a pretty impressive sight or at least that's what we think based on the renderings.

The lights will shine from 8:40 to 10:15 p.m. Friday night, and as you might imagine, the best view of them will be from up high. Try all the usual places: Griffith Observatory, the top of Runyon CanyonYamashiro, the Hotel Wilshire's rooftop bar and restaurant, the Hollywood Bowl overlook, a Downtown rooftop (try The Standard or the Ace Hotel or even the revolving Bona Vista Lounge at the Westin Bonaventure), the Baldwin Park stairs, your totally successful friend's dream house in the hills...

If you can't get up high to see the view, you can also follow along on social media: @asics on Instagram, @ASICSAmerica on Twitter, the brand's Facebook page, and with the hashtag #GoRunIt.

Planning to spectate the marathon? Here are the 10 best places to watch the LA Marathon, and our 9 essential, must-read tips for spotting your runner during the race.

And, just for good measure, here's a rendering of the light show... FROM SPACE.

Hollywood Orchard is Diggin' in 2015!

The trees are here! Now, let's plant them!

Saturday, March 14th, 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Last week was a huge success as we prepped the Glen Green Pilot Plot for our new trees!  Our talented and hardworking Orchardistas did a stellar job setting railroad ties and cultivating the hillside. And now... the trees have arrived! So, join us this Saturday, March 14th at the Glen Green Cul-de-sac to plant our trees in their new home!

Diggin'-In Game Plan

We'll be assembling at 8:30 a.m. (to beat the heat) at the Glen Green Cul-de-sac. Coffee and some treats will be on hand and then we'll get right to it as we take the new trees up to the Glen Green Pilot Plot (GGPP) for planting. Be prepared to get your hands dirty!

Once planted, these trees will be easily viewable and accessible by caretakers and school kids alike. What's even cooler is that these trees will be watered only by rain barrels and grey water!

We plan to finish the Glen Green Pilot Plot by noon and then some die-hard Orchardistas will head up to Hollyridge to plant a few remaining trees.
