Street Closures Sunday, Feb 22nd! 
 

Please be advised of street closures in Hollywood associated with the 87th Annual Academy Awards, which will be held tomorrow, Sunday February 22nd, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

There are also two movie premieres occurring this week shortly after the Oscars -- the Focus premiere on Tuesday 2/24, and the Cinderella premiere on Sunday 3/1. Both premieres will require either a partial or full closure of Hollywood Blvd.

The production teams have provided details on their events and the associated street closures.  Please see the attached documents for your reference, as well as the information listed below.  Please feel free to share this information with your networks so people will be able to plan accordingly.

LADOT ANNOUNCES HOLLYWOOD STREET CLOSURES FOR OSCAR, FILM PREMIERES

HOLLYWOOD -- The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) wants to remind Hollywood residents and visitors about the parking restrictions and street closures planned for the 87th Oscars, and the premiere of two separate feature films Focus and Cinderella. In an effort to mitigate increased traffic in the area and to ensure public safety, the LADOT has finalized street closures for the following areas.

Street closure plans around the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center� in Hollywood

  • Sunday February 15, 10 a.m. through Tuesday February 24, 6 a.m.: Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive
  • Saturday February 21, 6 a.m. through Monday February 23, 6 a.m.: MTA subway trains will bypass the Hollywood & Highland station after the last regularly scheduled train. Service at the station will resume with the first scheduled train after 6 a.m.
  • Sunday February 15 through Sunday February 22: Additional streets and sidewalks will be closed for varying periods. Details of the closures and maps of affected areas are available on the Academy's website at www.oscars.org/closures.

Additional streets will be closed Sunday, February 22, beginning at about 10 a.m., to assist with the circulation of event arrivals. Also closed on the day of the show will be the southbound Highland Avenue off-ramp from the 101 Freeway.

 

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation will begin to strictly enforce the restricted no-parking policy. This will include the citing and impounding of vehicles parked on these temporary restricted no-parking streets. Vehicles will be towed to the Official Police Garage, Hollywood Tow located at 1015 N. Mansfield Avenue Ave. in Hollywood when cited by LADOT. Motorists are advised to check the Official Police Garages (OPG) website, http://www.opglaviic.com, to find their vehicle. Alternatively, they may call 311 or Hollywood Tow, (323) 466-8583, to find information on how to redeem their vehicles.


 

Area residents are urged to use public transit. For more information call Metro at (323) GO METRO (323 466-3876) or visit the agency's trip planner web site at: www.metro.net. LADOT, which is dedicated to moving Los Angeles forward as quickly and safely as possible, also operates transit bus services. Drivers, bus riders, bicyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to visit LADOT's website at www.ladot.lacity.org for information about DASH, Commuter Express, bicycling in the City of Los Angeles and an array of transportation services.

The 87th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 and will be televised live on the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. All the Oscar setup will be off of Hollywood Blvd by Tuesday 2/24 at 6 a.m.

Focus Movie Premiere.


 

Tuesday February 24, 10 a.m. - 12 a.m.: Westbound lanes on Hollywood Boulevard between Highland and Orange Drive will be closed. Focus will be premiering at the TCL Chinese Theatre that evening.

Cinderella Movie Premiere.


 

Saturday February 28, 2 a.m. through Monday March 2, 6 a.m.: FULL closure of Hollywood Boulevard between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive. Cinderella will be premiering at the El Capitan Theatre on March 1, 2015 that evening.
