Hot Spot of the Month:

Neighbors Soren and Tony have created a way for neighbors to actually get the patrol we need to make our area safe:

Hot Spot of the Month: Dirt Mulholland - What YOU Can do to Help

For the next two weeks, if there are two neighbors willing to give one hour of their time to patrol this HOT SPOT, we may keep the community safe.

We are told that, if we get nightly documentation of illegal parking and smoking on "dirt Mulholland" (where the split Mulholland turns up Northeast), Capt. R.C. Smith of LADOT will place a nightly patrol car on duty.

There are kids and adults up there nightly and some are smoking. Volunteers have already been documenting and others have already signed up for the next couple of nights. Are you in? It's a good and productive way to work with neighbors. Let's go every night, 2 by 2, or at least 1 person up to dirt Mulholland between 6 and 7 p.m. for patrol until DOT steps up to the plate.

WHEN WILL YOU VOLUNTEER 2-HOURS?

Send your choice of dates to [email protected]

If more than two folks choose the same date, the more the merrier.

(This effort needs to continue through Memorial Day)

Look at your calendars and send your commitments to us all the way through Memorial Day.

Rules of this effort:

SMOKERS: If you see smoking, tell them nicely that there is an $800 fine and 8 days of community service for smoking in our brush area. Write down on a pad how many times you have had to ask people to put out their cigarette.

PARKING: Take your cell phone and camera. Take photos of illegal parking and send them to [email protected], [email protected]. Make a tiny not to them asking for DOT nightly patrol.

CALL Parking Enforcement Dispatch 213-485-4184 after you take your photo and send it to DOT (see above). Tell them it is the 6100 block of West Mulholland Hwy.

BAD BEHAVIOR: If you see suspicious behavior, call the Rangers 323-644-6661 and they will send a car.

DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT, DOCUMENT

Please share your documentation with us by cc'g [email protected]

SAMPLE DOCUMENTATION - Saturday 5-17-14
Thanks, Farrell.

Galling parking enforcement in real time works. These photos sent to RC and to us, that's great! Counting the number of smokers, number of cars parked illegally - PRICELESS!
