SKETCHES OF A PULP ROMANCE is the 2nd in the series of SKETCHES - an ever evolving performance work that is one part theater, two parts storytelling and all parts music.

This story of love gone wrong, pokes at our notions of destiny and choice. In the face of a trigger-happy rampage something sacred is evoked in the silence of the forest, giving form to the light and shadow of our collective psyche.

The lyrical orchestration moves fluidly with the text, narrated from the stage by the un-categorizable legend O-Lan Jones (it was previously read by the creative and graceful Bill Pullman to a full house in September 2013).

Doozy opens the night dishing out their own lush and loopy brand of prohibition pop and Depression-era cheer. Moira Smiley closes the show mixing the exotic and rarely heard, with the free spirit of roots music.

Kinetic shadows, audience engagement, and the open invitation to sketch the live models, add up to a kind of happening that brews up a mesmerizing experience.
