Massive Development Proposed

You've no doubt seen the vineyards on the hillside above Innsdale in Lake Hollywood. The owner of that private estate is planning a huge construction project. He wants permission to build a new .30 mile private road that will run from the current dead end of Innsdale Drive perpendicular to Innsdale cutting through previously undeveloped land. Among other things, he is seeking an exception from zoning ordinances to remove over 79,700 cubic yards of soil (the normal limit is 3,300 cubic yards) and to build several huge retaining walls over 12' High. This is taller than allowable and they want many more of these retaining walls than the law will allow. He is seeking approval of 17+ environmental mitigation measures. it is estimated that the construction will go on for 5 years; the damage to the environment will be permanent, and the construction noise and trucks will negatively all of our neighborhoods during the construction period. The main structure will be MASSIVE and the secondary guest house will be large as well. Plus, they want to build a wine cave. This area is the home of our P-22 Mountain Lion and other wildlife. This is a single family area and a huge project like this is far out of scale. With all the entitlements they are asking for, it's clear that the decision is in YOUR hands.

Save Crystal Springs! Hearing This Wed 11/20/13
(See important details below)
Click image to sign and forward the petition.

Did you know there is a proposal to build two new Prop K ball fields on the site of Crystal Springs Picnic area? We are not against ball fields. As a matter of fact, we proposed alternative areas for ball fields in Griffith Park. Our concern is what will happen if a sports complex is constructed in Crystal Springs:

1) Loss of picnic and free play area used by individuals and families in L.A. and the environs since 1936.
2) Loss of 45 trees, including an ancient native sycamore designated by the City as a Heritage Tree.
3) Loss of a historic landscape. Griffith Park is a designated Historic Cultural Monument No. 942.
4) Loss of habitat for wildlife and loss of connectivity to the L.A. River.

We invite you to sign this petition opposing Prop K ball fields at Crystal Springs Picnic Grounds. To save Crystal Springs, click on the link below and enter your name, city and comments in the dialog box at the bottom of the petition.Your urgent response is very important!
