Filming on Ledgewood

This is a public service notice: There is a filming event happening today and tomorrow (scroll down for the official notice):

Oct 9 and 10 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

If you are planning on traveling through Ledgewood or Belden, please reconsider or plan more time in your travel as there may be a little bit of a wait.

Here's a note from our City Council Deputy, Daniel Halden:

I spoke to Film LA and got more information about this production. Here's what I've got:

There are some driving shots involved (evidently).
There will be a fire officer/inspector from LAPD present on site.
There will be two uniformed, retired LAPD officers on site. Depending on the filming location and logistics of a given production, FILM LA could require zero officers, or one officer, or something else -- it all depends. When considering the permit, FILM LA studied the Belden/Ledgewood location and determined that two officers were needed for this site. It is standard procedure to use either retired or off-duty officers, and there is a pool from which FILM LA draws for this personnel.
The officers will be conducting intermittent traffic control. Per the guidelines of the permit, they can hold traffic for up to two minutes, and then must let traffic flow again.
At their discretion, the officers may hold traffic for longer (if, for example, there are no cars coming for a period longer than two minutes).

P.S. FILM LA advised the production there is not adequate space for large trucks. The production has been told to use cargo vans instead. Also, the fire inspector will be there to make sure that accessibility to the street is not obstructed.

The filming is for Wednesday 10/9 and Thursday 10/10.
