Your Attendance is Vital!

The hearing has been scheduled for June 4th at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall, 200 N. Spring St., L.A., 90012 in room 350.

Carpooling:

People are signing up for a ride to this hearing! Here's the departure and return details:

All riders need to be in Beachwood Village in front of the Beachwood Market by 1:30 p.m. as departure from that location MUST take place no later than 1:45 p.m. in order to navigate the traffic.

Those needing to be back by a certain specified time should be prepared to take public transit back to the Hollywood/Vine stop and the DASH 208 or one of the 4 p.m. carpooling cars back to Beachwood Village.

The best action is to be prepared to stay the entire day from hearing start at 2:30 p.m. to adjournment, which could be as late as 6 p.m. (3.5 hours)

We will have a special car or two set aside for those who need to leave at 4 p.m. Please let the organizers know at 1:30 p.m. in the Village if you are one of those who need to leave downtown for home at 4 p.m.

Anyone who wants to drive and has space in their cars, please let us know a couple days in advance. We will call your license and auto info in to the City to make certain we have free parking under City Hall for the carpooling fleet.

Driving on your own:

If you want to drive there from home and need parking, call 213-485-3337 and tell the City Council office that you need parking for that hearing. Call them no later than the morning of June 4th so they can get your information to the guard desk.

Enter City Hall parking from Los Angeles Street just south of Temple Street. Most will drive on Temple all the way to Los Angeles Street and turn right. Some brave souls will go south on the 101, exit at Los Angeles Street, turn right and take Los Angeles just south of Temple to the entrance of City Hall parking on the right.

Redline:

Taking public transit can be a fun field trip. Plan to leave from Hollywood/Vine by 1 p.m. The red line will take you all the way to the Civic Center stop, which is 2 blocks west of City Hall.

Karma Needs the Right Forever Home!

This poor girl has been through a whole lot. After being displaced for a very long time, she is now safe but looking for a forever home. Her name is Karma and she is very healthy.

She is an extremely affectionate "lap dog" that loves to go for walks. She is trained to go for a walk and do her business twice a day. Karma is crate trained and sleeps in a crate without any fuss.

We are interviewing potential new homes. We have fallen in love with her and want to make sure she goes to the right home.

Art on Display at the Beachwood Cafe!

Neighbor, Suzette Belouin-Sullivan has a selection of 18 oil paintings on view at the Beachwood Cafe. They are mostly new works of still life and plein air. They will be on display for about 4 to 6 weeks. If any of you are in the neighborhood, pop on in for a snack, lunch or dinner and sit with some of Suzette's canvas friends!!
