We're Almost There - Update From The Stop The Millennium Team!

The City Planning Commission has issued their Determination Letter for the Millennium Hollywood Project. They approved everything, including ALL variances requested by the developer.  We need to let the City Council know that we oppose this project, as currently approved.

Please take these two actions steps immediately:

1) Go to our new website StopTheMillenniumHollywood.org and sign the NEW detailed petition.

This petition will be sent to Councilman Garcetti and LaBonge as well as the 3 City Councilmembers on the Planning and Land Use Committee (the next step in the Project's hearing and review process).

2) Below the Petition on the site is a link to "sign up for updates"

Sign up for updates to keep informed on legal appeals, hearing dates, press updates/article and opportunities to add/lend your voice in objecting to the Project at the Planning and Land Use Committee and City Council Hearings on the Project.

We need your voice now. Please take these action steps.

You can find them deep in the jungles of Borneo, in the hills of Umbria and perhaps even in your own backyard. They are fruit hunters, the subjects of the new film from acclaimed director Yung Chang (Up the Yangtze, China Heavyweight).

The screening will be followed with a Q&A with Bill Pullman and others from the film! And after that: rare fruit sampling!

Graffiti - a LOCAL Concern!

Graffiti on cable and phone cabinets on Beachwood Drive has gotten increasingly lewd in recent months. Colette, from Beachwood Drive did some research. She discovered that the City will come and remove or paint over this graffiti only if local neighbors request it. All the cabinets in her area have been taken care of. Will you report the cabinets in your area?

Call 213-473-3231

Explain to the City that the images glued to the cabinets are of offensive content and should be removed ASAP. Tell them that we have children walking on the streets in our canyon as well as a high volume of tourists.

Be prepared to give them the addresses where the boxes are located. Thanks for your participation in making our community a place to be proud of!

When Families Get a Little Smaller

Foxy Dog

When Foxy was running around the streets of Beachwood Canyon with her aggressive dog pal, the neighbors were really concerned. When Animal Control came to take them away, we placed our name on the small German Shepherd/Collie mix. A month later, we claimed her, had her hair clipped. As a result, she looked just like a coyote or a fox so we named her "Foxy". That was April of 2006. At approximately 16+ years of age, Foxy finally took her shaky steps across that Rainbow Bridge to join her pals and ours on the other side.

Billy Cat

Billy Cat (See photo below) was brought to us many years ago as a kitten. He was a master at fetching from a young age. He was a really large cat (Big Boned?) with a very gentle disposition. At the ripe age of 18+, he joined his kitten friends on the other side.

Billy was almost 19 years old and was a very gentle soul!

We said goodbye to both within two weeks of one another in April of this year. Filled with gratitude, we embrace our remaining fur family. Love is eternal!
