A Message from Hollywoodland Homeowners Association
Dear Neighbors of Beachwood Canyon,
Traffic gridlock experienced by residents at the top of Beachwood at peak tourism times blocks passage of emergency vehicles as well as the driveways of residents! So, LAPD Traffic Enforcement will occasionally be setting up traffic checkpoints on weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Their purpose will be to monitor the parking situation in upper Beachwood and when it becomes full, restrict passage at the lower checkpoint (the Village) allowing residents of Beachwood Canyon and Lake Hollywood to pass through. Placing the checkpoint at the Village gives the officers space to turn around visitor traffic and re-direct it to Bronson Canyon and/or the Observatory.
We want to thank our Councilmember Tom Labonge and his Chief of Staff, Carolyn Ramsey for taking action to relieve (even if temporarily) the dangerous situation at upper Beachwood and for providing the Hollywoodland graphic for us.
Please print out this Hollywoodland logo and place it on your dashboard! Doing this will make it easy to spot you as a local resident and allow your vehicle to pass through the Village more easily.
We apologize for the inconvenience. The checkpoints are intended as a temporary solution while we work on longer-term solutions.
