Using a Big Stick! Fighting the Millennium Monster!

Process is not sexy but here goes:
If Hollywood is to fight the Millennium Monster, we have very little time to harness our forces. As with every war, this one needs to get funded right away. The attorney estimates the cost of appealing this massive project to be between $35,000 and $50,000 which includes a traffic consultant/report!
We need to raise these funds ASAP!

Details:
There will be an "organizational committee" formed to represent "everyone" opposed. This representative committee will be the group to meet with the attorney and get back to each group with updates.
There are over 40, probably closer to 50 organizations that have come out in opposition to this project. Each organization is doing what they can to collect the attorney fees.
An appeal of the City's approval of this project must be filed within 10 days of the City Planning Commission's Determination letter. These are critical deadlines, which cannot be missed, or the CPC's decision become final! If no appeals are filed with the City, we will have little chance of turning the tide when this project goes before the politicians (City Council) and the court.
The $50,000 raised will hire the attorney and the traffic consultant so they can file the appeal letter within the 10 days of the City Planning Commission's Determination Letter's issuance (which WILL happen next week).
Words of Wisdom:
In a Jan. 21, 2013 L.A. Business Journal article entitled "Activist Lawyer Stalls Approvals," there is a pull quote at the top from developer attorney Dale Goldsmith who said: "The risk of litigation is materially higher because of Mr. Silverstein and his clients. I advise all clients with projects in Hollywood to assume there will be litigation."
The article below points out how a bad community plan allows for very bad projects - one right after another. It must stop here!
The Millennium Project: Reaching High in Hollywood (editorial in the L.A. Times today)
This action will hold the line while our longer-term effort to overturn the Hollywood Community Plan is being litigated. We must not let them break ground!
Time is of the essence. Donate now and ask your friends to do the same. The future of Hollywood is in our hands.
