Planning Commission Approves Millennium!

The Planning Commission approved the Millennium project. We didn't really expect a different outcome at this stage as the Planning Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and the Mayor supports the project.

There will be further action steps. As always, feel free to send your comments to the City Council office so you will be in the official record in opposition to this project:

Tom.Labonge@lacity.org

Also, if so inclined, post your objections to the project on the various websites that are reporting on the development. Here are a few:

CBS Los Angeles

Los Angeles News

HollywoodPatch

PollDaddy

Bloomberg

When you comment, please speak to the issues:

Millennium is too dense, unmitigated traffic, is too tall and is underparked! Remember we are not anti-development. We are pro responsible development!

People from Hancock Park to Brentwood oppose Millennium. This isn't a hillside NIMBY issue.

It appears that City Councilmember and Candidate for Mayor, Eric Garcetti has come out against this project just in time for the Mayoral Election. Eventually, this plan will come before the City Council. One local resident said, "If Eric Garcetti cannot persuade his colleagues, the City Council to vote with him against a project in his OWN district, then he does not have the leadership skills to be Mayor!"

Stay tuned for more action steps.

Roscoe, The Great Dane, Needs to Find a New Family!

I have a dog that I found running around the streets of Van Nuys about 10 days ago. I took him to the vet as he had a superficial wound on his hock and I wanted to get him scanned to see if he was chipped. He was not chipped and after some antibiotics, his hock is healing well. He received all his shots as well. The vet feels he is about 5-years-old.

I went to the East Valley and West Valley shelters to look for lost dog flyers hoping to find his owner to no avail. I also posted a flyer in each shelter with no result.

He is an amazingly beautiful, sweet, housebroken, calm, gentle soul that appears to get along with all other dogs, cats, adults and kids. If it weren't for my very active rescue involvement, I would keep him without hesitation.

He is staying with a friend from the My Fair Lady flower shop on Beachwood. He is totally in love with her, but she cannot keep him. I am financially sponsoring him and helping with walks etc. I know this guy will make a great pet for the lucky people who welcome him into their home. I have someone who has another dog who is interested in having the dogs meet to see if it a match. I'm not sure how that will go. If you or anyone you know might be interested in him, please let me know. I have included his picture so that you too can fall in love with his handsome good looks!!
