Hollywood Orchard - Citrus-Galore - Community Pick!
Ok, we've got a canyon with fruit to share and we know how to do it! In the past we've donated fruit we've picked to " A Place Called Home" (APCH).* On Saturday, we'll be joined by a team of teens from APCH and together we hope to pick enough fruit for their kitchen to use for several weeks.
WHEN: Saturday, April 6th, 9:00am - 11:30am
Give us a couple hours of your picking time, and you'll get a memorable experience with members of the family of Los Angeles! (On the following Wednesday, a team from our Harvest and Kitchen crew will rejoin the teens for a workshop in preserving the fruit: Earl Gray Lemon Jelly.)
WHERE:
Hollywood Orchard Base Camp at the top of the Glen Green cul-de-sac, just up the street from Beachwood Drive.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Please arrive by 9:00am to sign-in for the event, receive a name tag and enjoy some light refreshments. We will start at 9:15am and divide into 6-8 picking crews before heading out to gather fruit. At the same time, a washing crew will set up stations for use as the fruit is brought in. WHAT TO BRING: - Please wear comfortable, old clothes and sturdy shoes as we'll be working throughout the morning. Bring a hat, sunscreen, a snack and a water bottle.
- Bring Harvest Tools. If you have pruning sheers, fruit pickers, work gloves and plastic buckets, please bring them.
TRANSPORTATION & PARKING: - Please walk, ride a bike or carpool to the Glen Green cul-de-sac as parking is very limited.
- Nearest available parking is on Beachwood Drive.
Thanks for all your great support and we look forward to a fun Citrus-Galore Pick!
