Lag B'Omer

On May 7, Kadima Day School competed in its annual Lag B'Omer games for Elementary and Middle School.

Elementary school had a "Color War" which started with lots of spirit and cheer at six different stations, including basketball hot shot, bean bag toss, football ring toss, relays, obstacle courses and one station lead by Mrs. Canes talking about the meaning of Lag B'Omer. Teams worked together to earn points at each station to see who will be Color War Champs for 2015.

Middle school tried something new this year based based on the popular TV show "The Amazing Race". Seven teams scrambled around Kadima's campus searching to find clues and completing 12 challenges before reaching their final destination at Shadow Ranch Park. Purple team completed the final challenge first, followed by the Black and Red team.

ECEC celebrated Lag B'Omer by participating in relay races, obstacle courses and fun team games on the Shoup patio. Popsicles were an incredible ending to our amazing day.

Way to go Kodiaks!!

Shavuot @ Kadima: Friday, May 22

On Friday, May 22, 2015, Kadima Day School will celebrate Shavuot. Shavuot, the Festival of Weeks, has both historical and agricultural significance. Agriculturally, it commemorates the time when the first fruits were harvested and brought to the Temple, and is known as Hag ha-Bikkurim (the Festival of the First Fruits). Historically, it celebrates the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai, and is also known as Hag Matan Torateinu (the Festival of the Giving of Our Torah.) Please fill bikkurim baskets or bags with fruit or vegetables and send them to school. All produce will be donated to SOVA.

Please do not send any fruit or vegetables to school before Friday, May 22, 2015 as this is our designated delivery day.

In honor of Shavuot, please remind your children to wear white on this day.
