SNSI Expands Vet Network

SNSI could not be successful without an extensive network of veterinarians who support our mission and provide low-cost surgeries, sometimes in areas of Indiana where spay-neuter options are very limited.

We are pleased to announce six new clinics that can provide low-cost spay neuter through SNSI:

  • Healthier Pet Animal Wellness Center - Huntington (Huntington Co.)
  • Emerson Pet Clinic (cats only) (Marion Co.)
  • Pendleton Veterinary Clinic (Madison Co.)
  • Terre Haute Humane Society (Vigo Co.)
  • Davis Veterinary Service - Rensselaer (Jasper Co.)
  • Davis Veterinary Service - Winamac (Pulaski Co.)

Visit this link for a complete list of of vets.

Guidestar Exchange, the national program that monitors non-profit organizations for legitimacy, just recognized SNSI at its Gold Participation level.

Foundations and other funders utilize Guidestar to verify a non-profit's compliance with Internal Revenue Service requirements for charitable status.

WISH-TV Daybreak Helps Promote the SNSI License Plate

On the March 14 episode of WISH-TV (Indianapolis) Daybreak, SNSI's President, Cheri Storms, joined host Drew Blair and PetPalsTV's Patty Spitler. Storms was on-air promoting the Pet-Friendly License Plate.

Currently the #8 highest sold license plate in Indiana, the Pet-Friendly plate brings $25 to SNSI from every plate sold, and every dollar of that money supports spay/neuter surgeries.

Join the thousands of Hoosiers who sport the plate that tells others they love animals. When it's time to renew your license plate, choose the Pet-Friendly plate!

Spring Weather Brings Kitten Season

During the spring months, more cats are on the loose and looking for a mate. It is this time of year that animal shelters across Indiana are flooded with kittens.

SNSI reminds Hoosiers that cats as young as four months old can get pregnant with unwanted litters, leading to more shelter crowding and increased euthanasia due to lack of space and resources.

Now is the time to spay/neuter to avoid unwanted litters and save animal lives.
Canine Flu Hits Close To Home

Indiana State Board of Animal Health is warning about a highly contagious canine
influenza reported in the Chicago area.

While no cases of this dog flu has been reported in Indiana to date, health officials suggest getting your dog vaccinated to avoid risk of contracting the virus, especially for vulnerable animals like dogs that are very young or elderly.

Those is no risk to humans contracting the disease, however, five dogs have died from the virus to date.
