The Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors reported that real estate sales in December were the best ever, up 10.4% compared to a year ago. This resulted in 2015 being the best year in real estate since 2006. December home sales in Cincinnati were 1,809 compared to 1,639 one year ago. - "2015 was a great year for Greater Cincinnati, recording the most home sales since 2006", said Patti Stehlin, President of the Cincinnati Area Board of Realtors. "Low interest rates, low inventory, and very affordable housing have made this a great market for both buyers and sellers." - "Sales remain strong, but in some cases, they are taking a little longer to close due to new government regulations, but don't let this deter you. Contact a Realtor to help you understand all the important details involved in buying and selling a home. A Realtor will assist you through the entire process, and is your absolute best source for professional and accurate information," said Stehlin. - ![]() We can attest to the above comments. Our agents have been very busy helping clients buying and selling single family homes, condominiums, investment property, business property, and even land! It is true that these transactions are taking a little longer to close. New regulations instituted mid-October, designed to add an additional layer of protection to the transaction process have caused delays in some closings. As mortgage departments become more familiar with these new regulations, this process should speed up considerably. - The CABR report also noted that the average home price for Cincinnati homes climbed to $179,550 compared to $173,447 a year earlier. Local home mortgage rates in December averaged 3.91% for a 30 year fixed loan. One year ago, rates were higher at 3.99%-----RSIR |
