Sharonville attracts visitors from around the region. Clients we've served in Sharonville rave about the ‘livability’ of the community and invariably, the topic of Sharon Woods Park enters the conversation. This beautiful park comprises 730 acres of recreation and exploration. On any given day you’ll find walkers, runners, and bicyclists from everywhere taking advantage of a paved, 2.6 mile trail that winds through dense woods along the Sharon Lake shoreline. - The 35 acre lake is great for fans of boating and fishing. A harbor area is a magnet for all visitors, including those who rent pedal boats, pontoon boats, rowboats, canoes, kayaks, and motorboats. The Harbor area is the hub of the park and features a snack bar, large playground, and children's splash area. - The Sharon Woods Golf Course is an 18 hole course with a Four Stars rating by Golf Digest Magazine and award winning golf pros. It is the oldest golf course operated by the Parks department, having been opened in 1938 by the much esteemed, legendary Bobby Jones. It is a very popular course, treating players to lovely views, rolling hills, and challenging play. - This coming weekend is start of the Holiday in Lights. This is a vary popular Christmas display. As mentioned in the Happenings section of the 'Things To Do' section above left, this is also the weekend for the 7th annual Holiday in Lights 5K Run/Walk. Runners and walkers of this event finish at the lighting display, making for a beautiful finale. NOTE: If you haven’t yet registered, you have until November 18, 11:59 pm (Wednesday). You can register here: getmeregistered.com. Even if you don't run, it's a great opportunity to enjoy the event, the excitement, and the displays. - History Snippet The first non-native Americans arrived in what is now Sharonville way back in 1788. Henry Runyan purchased the land in 1791 and named their town Sharon, after a small town in Pennsylvania. The name was changed to Sharonville in 1879 due to the pre-existance of an town named Sharon in Eastern Ohio. - Real Estate In the past five years, three homes have sold for over $400,000, 15 have sold for over $300,000, and nine have sold for over $200,000. The average sale price for single family homes in Sharonville has been just over $148,000. ---RSIR |
