History Snippet The first non-native Americans arrived in what is now Sharonville way back in 1788. Henry Runyan purchased the land in 1791 and named their town Sharon, after a small town in Pennsylvania. The name was changed to Sharonville in 1879 due to the pre-existance of an town named Sharon in Eastern Ohio.
