There’s a celebration happening 20 miles North of Cincinnati that has been 200 years in the making. The City of Mason is marking its bicentennial throughout the year. - From the Mason website: “This city was started as a humble village two hundred years ago by a Revolutionary War veteran, William Mason. At auction in 1803, Major Mason paid $1,700 for 640 acres between the Great and Little Miami Rivers from John Cleves Symmes. In 1815, Major Mason platted sixteen lots on his property adjoining Muddy Creek”. - Mason has experienced incredible growth over the last half century. This community was comprised of less than 1,000 residents even until the 1950 census. Population growth was still incremental. Even by 1970, there were less than 5,700 residents. Today however, Mason has a population of over 30,000! - The nation has begun to notice the finer qualities of this community. Mason was recently ranked 7th on Money Magazine’s list of 'Best Places to Live' for families in small towns. CNN has twice named Mason among the '100 best places to live in the USA'. - The City has attracted some of the most prominent corporations. These include: Procter & Gamble, Luxottica, Cintas, Mitsubishi Electronics, L-3 Communications, and Heinz. Of course, everyone knows that Mason is home to Kings Island, The Beach Waterpark, Great Wolf Lodge, and the Lindner Family Tennis Center, one of the largest tennis stadiums in the world and home each year to the Western Southern Open, one of the premier tennis events. - Mason schools are consistently rated among the top schools in the State. You can find all public schools on their website. In addition, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy has emerged as a highly rated private school. Mason is now home to Sinclair Community College which opened their Courseview Campus there in 2007. - There are well over 100 restaurants in Mason. A few that we have visited include: Phoenician Taverna, Wildflower Café, Pitrelli's Italian Restaurant, Blaze Pizza, Mason Grill, and Sura Korean Cuisine. - Mason has an amazing array of recreational opportunities. You can find a list of parks here. Golfing enthusiasts flock to The Grizzly, the challenging course designed by Jack Nicklaus. - These agents are extremely knowledgeable in Mason Real Estate; Cynthia Jansen, Sean Chmura, Farrah Rudd & Lynn Warneke. Give them a call when considering buying or selling in this area. ---RSIR |
