Phi Sigma Sigma Welcomes Back University of Delaware

ELKRIDGE, MD, March 13, 2013 - Phi Sigma Sigma continues to build to its walls as a new member class of 187 outstanding women was welcomed into its colony at the University of Delaware. Bid day, which was held on Sunday, March 10, marks the beginning of a successful future for the Delta Eta Chapter.

"In addition to the two full-time, on-campus field consultants, Jill Gansert and Megan Beste, the colonization team consisted of seasoned and experienced Phi Sigma Sigma staff members and volunteers," said Director of Recruitment and Extension Alex Cheolas. "It could not have happened without the team's amazing support. I know the women selected will live up to the Phi Sig motto, 'Aim High.'"

After several months of public relations efforts, both on and off campus and through formal recruitment, Phi Sigma Sigma officially began its colonization March 5 with a kickoff event.

Following the colonization kick off, women were invited to meet Phi Sigma Sigma sisters from local universities. On Saturday, the women invited to preference party were able to take part in a Phi Sigma Sigma tradition and get to know its sisterhood even better. These events led up to a historical Bid day for the organization.

"A new member class of 187 women is the largest in Phi Sigma Sigma's history," said International President Alicia Scott. "I could not be more proud of our organization. We have selected a remarkable group of young women and are excited to rejoin the Greek community at the University of Delaware."
