Steve Roth

With the holiday season upon us and the end of the year in sight, I'd like to express my gratitude to everyone who participated in and supported our many activities and events throughout a very busy 2013.

Last month, many of you joined us in celebrating the year's best public relations initiatives at our 49th Annual PRism Awards Show, in its new home at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. We're grateful to former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Senator Kevin de Leon and LA City Councilman Tom LaBonge for coming out to present awards to some of our Special Honorees.

Congratulations to all the 2013 PRism winners, including Children's Hospital Los Angeles, which took home the President's Award for a second consecutive year by receiving the most PRism's at the show and Hill + Knowlton Strategies, which was awarded Best in Show for its 20th anniversary release campaign for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's The Sandlot.

In addition to the PRism Awards Show, with your support and engagement we delivered nearly 20 other programs, networking mixers and professional development events in 2013, on topics ranging from healthcare media to food PR.

It's fitting that we're rounding out this very robust year of programming with one more installment in our always-popular "At Breakfast With" media series, and--in this time of giving--our annual community giving-back program, Quality Time with PR Minds.

None of this would be possible without you, our members and supporters, and our many committee members and volunteers. Thank you for your contributing to the vitality of our Chapter.

Finally, I'd like to express my sincere gratitude to each of the very dedicated members of the 2013 PRSA-LA board of directors, who have committed considerable time, talent and expertise to bring our Chapter activities to life. Their hard work and dedication enable us to continue delivering value to the Los Angeles area PR community year after year.

Thank you again for your support of PRSA-LA and happy holidays!

Sincerely,

Steve Roth, PRSA-LA President
Principal, OutThink Partners

Quality Time with PR Minds to Unite PR Pros, Deserving Not-for-Profits

Saturday, December 7, 2013
8:30 a.m. - Noon
Pasadena Convention Center

Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and Citizen Relations

2010 Quality Time Event Calling all PR professionals who want to give back! If you have at least two years of PR experience and are interested in donating your time and creativity to some very worthy nonprofits, then join PRSA-LA for "Quality Time with PR Minds" this coming weekend.

Quality Time is a half-day event, during which teams of PR volunteers provide free assistance to local nonprofit organizations that may not have the funds or resources to retain professional PR counsel. Quality Time is your opportunity to make a significant contribution in just one day by helping to inspire, encourage and empower local nonprofits to tackle their most challenging communications issues. Quality Time also offers a unique venue to network and collaborate.

Remember, a little quality time goes a long way. Be part of Quality Time with PR Minds 2013!
