Greetings!
 | | Steve Roth |
This has been an interesting month for those of us in the PR profession, as media crises worthy of future case studies abound.
And although some have come too late to be leveraged for a PRism Award win in 2013, that hasn't stopped our members from answering our recent Call for Entries and telling PRism judges all about the pioneering programs and tactics they're employing on behalf of their organizations and their clients.
And speaking of big moves, I'm pleased to announce that the 49th Annual PRism Awards will be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel in the historic Crystal Ballroom. For more than 100 years, the Beverly Hills Hotel has been associated with some of L.A.'s most accomplished personalities and events. Save the date and join us on November 6 to celebrate PR's own moments in the spotlight. In closing I'll mention that we have some excellent chapter programming coming up in July. First, we have an "At Breakfast With..." panel featuring entertainment media and later in the month a panel presentation on healthcare PR in the wake of healthcare reform. See below and keep watching for chapter updates in your inbox. With the diversity of our programming mix this year, you're sure to find something to pique your interest.
Sincerely, Steve Roth, PRSA-LA President Principal, OutThink Partners

Why did FleishmanHillard enter the PRism Awards?RP: Each year we decide to enter the PRism Awards as a way to celebrate what our clients regularly tell us--that the FleishmanHillard team consistently provides strategic, creative thinking that delivers daring ideas that get people talking and impacts bottom-line business results. Volunteer Opportunity
Wolf Connection Seeks PR Volunteers, Promises Abundant Wolf Kisses
Wolf Connection is a volunteer-based 501(C)3 non-profit that rescues, rehabilitates and trains domestically-raised wolves and wolfdogs to serve as program animals for at-risk teens, persons in substance abuse programs, returning veterans with PTSD and other special populations. The group is looking for volunteers, particularly those with special expertise in celebrity management, entertainment media and social media, to help sustain and grow its state-of-the-art rescue/rehabilitation program. Wolf Connection offers volunteers high visibility, great portfolio material and an abundance of wolf kisses (kisses not required, but they are pretty awesome). Wolf Connection has recently been featured on KCAL/KCBS TV, MTV.com and The New York Times. An ideal volunteer commitment would include 8-10 hours of service per month.
