By 2015, it's estimated that the purchasing power for Hispanics will top $1.5 trillion. Failure to address the interests and concerns of your different constituents will put your brand's relevancy at risk. Attend PRSA-LA's Multicultural Forum to learn from major brand representatives how they earned the right to do business with Hispanic consumers. Find out how AT&T, Ford, New York Life and Lifetime captured significant market share by implementing a total market approach and how multicultural communications has become everyone's responsibility. - Danielle Carrig, Senior Vice President, Publicity & Public Affairs, Lifetime Television
- Rosa Esquivel, Director of Diverse Markets, AT&T
- Carlos Garcia, Corporate Vice President, New York Life
- Monica Gil, Senior Vice President, Public and Government Affairs, The Nielsen Company

Tateel, Celebrities, Take to Twitter for Toyota
Rita Tateel, PRSA-LA Board member and president of The Celebrity Source, just completed her 17th year of working with the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, Pro-Celebrity Race. Collaborating with GolinHarris, Toyota Motorsports' agency of record and PRSA-LA chapter sponsor, Tateel and GH helped harness the social media platforms of 18 celebrities to generate over 32 million impressions of the hashtag #TPCR (Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race). "Providing the Twitter handle and hash tag early on was key, and we visually had it everywhere," said Tateel. "We also gave the celebrities each other's handles and encouraged them to share photos and engage each other, which resulted in lots of re-tweets." According to both Tateel and GH, their client Toyota Motorsports was extremely happy with the end result. The winner of the 37th Annual Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race, held on April 20, was Rutledge Wood, co-host of the History Channel's popular show "Top Gear USA."
Cunard Royal Rendezvous Makes Maritime News
 | | Photo Credit: John Shearer, Invision |
On March 12, amidst fireworks and much fanfare, Cunard Line's Queen Elizabeth met Queen Mary for an historic Cunard Royal Rendezvous. Cunarders and maritime enthusiasts alike gathered along the shores of Long Beach Harbor and more than 3500 people were aboard Queen Mary for a celebration that began with a series of whistle salutes between the two ships. Spectators were treated to a commemorative fireworks show, which lit up the skies above the harbor. In addition, a narrative of the ships' histories was simulcast by Everette Hoard, commodore of Queen Mary, who was speaking from the Bridge of Queen Elizabeth. All prominent, local mainstream broadcast affiliates covered the Rendezvous; with syndication, more than 100 Royal Rendezvous-related broadcast segments aired. The Rendezvous also earned significant print coverage in the Los Angeles Times, the Long Beach Press Telegram and the Daily Breeze.
