Tigers Finish in the Top 16 in the State

Two seasons ago the Terrell Varsity Football team was ranked 200+ in the state of Texas. This year our Terrell Tigers finished in the Top 16 for our 5A Division in the state, and also earned the District Championship, Bi-District Championship and Area Championship.

Additionally, 17 varsity players were recognized among categories including, Players of the Year, First Team All-District, Second Team All-District, and All-District Special Teams. The Terrell varsity coaching staff was also named the 2015 12-5A Staff of the Year.

Every player, coach, Tigerette, cheerleader, Fighting Tiger Band member, Color Guard, student trainer, Tiger Guard, and Tiger fan should be very proud of this season. Each one of you contributes to making us Terrell Proud and Tiger Strong!

Local Children in Need of Christmas Gifts

Are you and your family looking for a way to give back this holiday season? If so, look no further than our local community.

This year, Toys for Tots has registered nearly 3,000 children from Terrell in need of Christmas gifts. Applications poured in from families who struggle to provide toys and gifts for their children. The Toys for Tots program aims to fulfill each and every application to ensure all children have a gift under the tree on Christmas morning.

Donations are being accepted until Wednesday, December 16. Collection boxes are located around the Terrell community including all TISD schools and the TISD Administration Building (700 N. Catherine St.). The greatest need is for toys suited for children eight to 12 years of age. All donated toys must be new and unwrapped.

THS Band Members Selected for Honor Band

Arturo Gonzalez, THS senior on trombone, and Molly Cole, THS sophomore on clarinet, were selected to represent Terrell High School in the Region 3 All-Region Honor Band.

Earlier this month, a total of 13 students from the Fighting Tiger Band auditioned for the Honor Band and competed against more than 3,000 5A and 6A students from the North Dallas area. After a lengthy audition process, Gonzalez and Cole were selected to join the prestigious group. Both students not only made the All-Region band, but will compete for the opportunity to make the Texas All-State Band.

Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment!
