Connecting Boat Builders; Honoring Bevin's Skiff!

Joe Youcha
Joe Youcha

It's hard to believe that the first of Bevin's Skiffs was launched 15 years ago. Since then, there have been probably over 2,000 Bevin's Skiffs built by families, community groups and schools all over the world.

It's about time that we try and connect all those builders. This newsletter is the first step towards that goal, and it's way overdue. I hope you enjoy it.

And, be in touch. Let us know what you're doing with your Bevin's Skiff. If you have pictures of kids building Bevin's Skiff, we'd love to see them!

Building Bevin's Skiff at the Alexandria Seaport
Bevin's Skiff's straightforward design and construction make it great to both build and use.  Over the years, scores of these rowing boats have been built by young people in the Alexandria Seaport Foundation's Boatbuilding Apprentice Program.

How Bevin's Skiff Got its Name

Ever wonder where the

2012 on how to add a teaching component into his work with teens and pre-teens. Now, he found out how to teach math fundamentals while the students also experienced the achievement of completing a project.
