| The Urgency of Now - Provider Attestation! | |
Eligible professionals (EPs) who participated in the Medicare Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Program in 2012 must complete attestation for the 2012 program year by February 28, 2013. In order to be eligible to attest, you must have completed your 2012 reporting period by December 31, 2012.
CMS encourages Medicare EPs to register and attest as soon as possible to resolve any potential issues that may delay their payment.
Let us help you with your registration and attestation needs.

| Are You At Risk for Patient Data Breaches? | |
As of October 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services-Office of Civil Rights reported that data breaches are on the rise, not only in large hospitals and institutions, but also in small provider practices (10-50 providers).
Data breaches included stolen laptops and electronic medical records, unauthorized disclosure of patient information (including posting patient clinical and surgical appointments on an internet calendar) and unencrypted emails sent to unsecure employee email addresses. In fact, 77% of Patient Privacy audit issues and 61% of Security audit issues were found in the small provider practices.
Fines ranged from $35,000 to $4.5 million.
Can you afford data breaches in your practice?
Let us help you better understand your risks and areas of vulnerability to best allocate resources to strengthen your security and privacy safeguards.
