Thornberry Custom Builders Inc. Newsletter
March 2016

March is such a great month in our area!  Spring Training Baseball is in full swing at Charlotte Sports Park for the Rays.  Plus, some great outdoor events like Punta Gorda's FunkFest, United Way's Florida Feast, and the BaseBALL Event benefitting the Boys and Girls Club have all taken place recently, just to name a few.  All these great options can make for a busy social calendar, but they certainly provide excellent opportunites for supporting our area and enjoying the beautiful weather!

In addition to a bustling season for social activities, its been another busy month for construction and its going to be an extremely action-packed summer for Thornberry Custom Builders, Inc.!

Please enjoy another edition of our Newsletter and, as always, welcome any questions, feedback, etc.

Sincerely,

~Happenings~

The Rays and the Boys & Girls Club of Charlotte County put on their annual BaseBALL event on March 11th.  This year was the first time the event was held at Charlotte Sports Park and it made for a fun-filled casual evening raising money for a great cause and getting to mingle with Rays coaches and players!

The United Way of Charlotte County celebrated their 50th Birthday by putting on a wonderful event, The Florida Feast, out at Laishley Park.  It was a beautiful evening full of delicious "Florida Food" including gator tail, swamp cabbage, and hush puppies, as well as fellowship and fundraising for an organization that does so much for our community.   Congrats to the United Way on a very well-attended event and thanks for a great time!

 Monthly Home Feature Showcase

Every month we like to bring useful information to you about home styles, design features, or construction lingo.  This month's subject is....

Pool or No Pool,
That is the Question!

Spring has arrived and Summer is right around the corner which means its POOL SEASON!!

Many customers contemplate whether or not to add a pool during the construction process or to wait and add it after.
From a Builder's perspective, its always going to be less disruptive to the home and property to build the pool along with the construction of the home.  In addition to being less disruptive, the Builder can oversee the progress and deal directly with the pool contractor alleviating the homeowner from that responsibility.

From a real estate investment standpoint, typically, you're not going to get your money out of a pool when you go to sell the home.   However, it does add some value and is a selling feature for the home.  A good rule of thumb is that a pool should always be added for the pure enjoyment of the homeowner, not as an "investment."

Stay tuned for more design and construction info sharing next month...
