Thornberry Custom Builders Inc. Newsletter
October 2015

Although it's still warm and the rain has slowed....I do feel a hint of change in the air and I'm looking forward to some dryer and less humid weather! And, so far my Seminoles are holding their own. I hope I didn't speak too soon.

Welcome to another edition of our monthly newsletter. I continue to get great feedback and I hope that you find the information helpful and interesting. I always welcome your feedback, questions, and requests for more information.

Please enjoy and GO NOLES!!!

Sincerely,

A very special congratulations to my Dad, Tom Thornberry, for being inducted into the Florida Housing Hall of Fame!  What an amazing accomplishment...very proud of him!

Front Porch Decor and Furnishings for the Home

Large, small, or wrap-around, welcoming and comfortable is what you want your visitors to say about your front porch. It's where you want to have coffee with your neighbor, read a book, or take a nap.

To add that comfort and warmth, try adding cushions, pillows, and area rugs (all weather-resistant). Curtains, roll-up shades, free-standing screens, or tall potted shrubs can offer privacy as well as shelter from the weather.
Next, bring in a small table, loveseat (or porch swing), chair, and ottoman-think about wicker.  Then, add accents, like lanterns or sconces, candles, and small potted plants.

If you are working with a small porch with limited space, take advantage of the floor, walls, and ceiling. Paint the ceiling, floor, and front door; change hardware; and hang outdoor art. Just remember, "comfort."
