You would think that things would be slowing down now that our Snowbird residents have started their trek North.
As a business owner and president of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce it's a pleasure to see that things are really jumping. Construction and Real Estate are up and since they're two of the largest economic engines in Charlotte County, that means the rest of County is following suit.
It's been a busy "Season" and it looks as though the Summer will continue to be busy. After so many years of waiting for the economy to recover, it's nice to know it's finally here!
I hope your Summer is good, too and that you find some downtime to enjoy our beautiful beaches, great restaurants and all that Charlotte County has to offer!

Summer Home Maintenance
With Summer on the way, there are a few things that should be on your Home Maintenance Checklist. This time of year means hot, humid weather and rainy season. Put these Preventative Measures on your "to do" list now to eliminate problems in the future...
1. Check & clean your gutters to make sure they are clear of debris - making it easier for heavy rains to flow away from your house.
2. Check your roof for warped or chipped shingles and have them repaired or replaced. If not, rain (and wind) could get under and cause leaks.
3. Have your HVAC system serviced. One thing you don't want to worry about in the middle of the Summer is if your A/C can handle the heat and humidity. We use Birch's Air Conditioning & Heating for all our HVAC installations and they offer a great maintenance service, too. Don't be fooled by unrealistic low price "coupons" that other companies feature...as with anything else...you get what you pay for!

Their mission has been to develop new and existing community leaders by providing an experiential education as to the heritage, resources, opportunities and business environment in Charlotte County. Each class has also had a goal to raise money to support a local cause or group. This year's class is having a great fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics, PG Police Department's Jammers Basketball League and Girls on the Run. New Projects
1967 PGI Complete Home Remodel
A few months ago we started this remodel of a 1967 PGI home and posted photos at that time. Everything had to be changed, even the plumbing water lines. Well, here it is...finished!The dark custom cabinetry in the kitchen is highlighted by stainless steel appliances and the new 18" porcelain
tiles on the floor. The back of the island serves as extensive storage for wine bottles.
   The curved stainless steel hood over the cooktop adds a bit of relief from all the straight lines and angles. The kitchen overlooks the family room.

In the adjoining family room the dry bar contains a wine cooler and built-in ice maker. The cabinets and back splash match the kitchen.
 ***** The long vanity in the master bath continues the contemporary look with two elongated rectangle sinks and pedestal mounted waterfall faucets. The kneewall on the right adds privacy for the commode.   The luxurious walk-in shower in the Master Bath has glass enclosures above the kneewalls, a built-in seat, storage niches and a fabulous shower system complete with body sprays and a large rain head fixture suspended from the ceiling.
