September 2013

Crittenden Dr. North Connector Celebration

The Crittenden Drive Relocation Project recently celebrated another milestone with the completion of the North Connector. To mark the occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took placed on Friday, September 20 that included remarks from Lt. Governor Jerry Abramson, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer, Metro Louisville Councilman Dan Johnson and Airport Authority Chairman Phil Lynch.

With the new 1.25 mile roadway open, the second-and final-roadway pinch point has been eliminated, allowing construction to continue on Taxiway "A"-a crucial airfield improvement that will allow the Louisville International Airport to handle the newest and largest commercial aircraft.

Construction on the next phase of the project, which includes the rehabilitation of the Woodlawn Overpass, is currently in the design stage and could begin as early as FY 2015.
