Improvements to Rental Car Facility

The convenient rental car quick-turn-around (QTA) facility, located just west of the terminal at Louisville International Airport, is undergoing a major renovation.

To allow for the construction, the Credit-Card-Only lot just east of the terminal will close on Thursday, August 15, so that it can be reconfigured to temporarily serve as the rental car parking area.

Special orange-and-black signs will be posted on airport roadways and directional signage will be placed in the terminal directing travelers to the temporary rental car pick up location.

Airport Authority Debt at Lowest in 20 Years

At the July meeting of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) Board, Chairman Phil Lynch advised the Board the LRAA is beginning the new fiscal year (July 1, 2013-June 30, 2014) with a debt load smaller ($289 million) than any time in the last 20 years. In addition, it was noted that the Authority's debt had been reduced by 1/3 in just the last 10 years.

"This is great news for the future of our airport and is the direct result of exceptional management and the strength of our business partners," said Lynch.

The proof of that, said Lynch, was "we have not just been paying down debt; rather, we have simultaneously continued to improve our facilities and prepare for the future."
