Rental car quick-turn-around (QTA) construction. |
At its June meeting, the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) Board approved the FY 2014 (July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014) budget for the Airport Authority. The budget projects revenues of $115.8 million, operating expenses of $56.7 million and $57.3 million in capital and major maintenance projects.
It also includes funding for the Authority's two, noise-mitigation programs - the Voluntary Residential Relocation Program and the QuieterHomeŽ sound-insulation program.
Louisville International Airport (SDF)
Although Louisville International already serves 24 nonstop destinations (eight of the top 10 international gateway airports), the LRAA Board approved expanding the airport's FY 2014 cooperative advertising program to support airlines that introduce new or expanded service.
Capital initiatives at Louisville International include the continuation of the Crittenden Drive Relocation Project that allows for the construction of Taxiway "A" to be completed. This, along with other airfield improvements, are instrumental in the airport's plan to accommodate Group VI aircraft (the largest and newest long-range commercial aircraft).
Other initiatives include refurbishing the rental car quick-turn-around (QTA) facility and rehabilitating airfield pavement.
Bowman Field (LOU)
At Bowman Field, plans include on-going airfield pavement projects, the Bowman Field Airport Area Safety Program and developing the south hangar area.
